The Emilia-Romagna region is one of the great gastronomic centers of Italy.  Our base will be the city and hills of Reggio Emilia, located between Milan and Bologna in northern Italy.  You will learn how the three key ingredients of Emilia cuisine, traditional balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma, are made.  Throughout the week a variety of organized activities will be arranged, yet there will be plenty of time to explore on your own. 

 


TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Visit a traditional caseificio, producer of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • Explore the picturesque towns and castles of Emilia-Romagna and the small cities of Parma and Modena
  • Visit a traditional acetaia, producer of balsamic vinegar, and enjoy lunch on the premises
  • Enjoy an afternoon of winetasting at a local winery
  • Visit a traditional prosciuttificio, producer of Parma's world-famous prosciutto ham
  • Join a day trip to Bologna, the food capital of Italy
  • Experience meals at family owned restaurants serving tasty local specialties

  • Transfer from Bologna Marconi Airport to Reggio Emilia
  • 4 nights accommodation with breakfast at the four-star Hotel Posta in the historic center of Reggio Emilia
